Fake vs. Real Instagram Followers

There are a lot of things to worry about on Instagram and other social media platforms, on of those main concerns being real versus fake followers. Figuring out whether you’re marketing to fake or real followers can be a big deal, as it’s going to determine whether your efforts are in vain (or not). In some cases, boosting your follower count with some fakes is a great idea; but we’ll get into that a bit further down in this piece. Don’t get suckered in and start to think that these are legitimate followers!

Follower Count – Most fake accounts are going to have little to no following at all, as they aren’t really a part of the Instagram community. If you want to make the most out of your Instagram efforts, you’ll need to decipher which accounts you should be caring about.

Tendencies – If the follower you’re holding in question never interacts with posts, and sports a silly username (like “HotGirlToledo98881”), odds are it’s spam. There are a lot of “ghost followers” out there that don’t interact with your posts, which is another problem altogether; having a high follower count and low post interaction levels can be a tough issue to handle.

How Can Fakes Be Good?
The phrase “fake it until you make it” holds suit here, as a lot of the time, social media endeavours are a numbers game. The more people looking at (and interacting) with your social media posts, the better! There are plenty of analytic tools out there that will give you an idea as to how many people are engaging with your posts, as well as who those people happen to be – but with fakes, you don’t need to worry about that. Fakes are pretty much what you use when you’re first starting out and trying to build your social media reputation!

Fakes can make people believe that you’re already a popular brand, and hop on the bandwagon as a result. As awful as it may sound, a lot of people just want to go with the flock – that’s why the word “sheeple” is thrown around so loosely these days. If you can hop on the popular train, I would suggest you do it immediately.
